Recently Courting the Horse paid a visit to the newly established Equine Connect. This short film is the first part in a series which focuses on four of the horses based there. Each horse was brought into the sand arena for training over the course of the afternoon and these videos document the small progressions in each horses training, the observations made by Gina and Lucinda about each horse, their balance, postures, emotional states and more. In this short film Mary Concannon, of The Irish Clicker Centre introduces us to clicker training. In it she shows us the very first steps in developing training through the use of the clicker. EQUINE ASSISTED THERAPY AND LEARNING |
| This is a short film which introduces the concepts of equine assisted therapy and equine assisted learning. In December of 2009 Maria Wood of Courting the Horse visited Baerbel Schlueter of 2WildHorses. During a sample equine assisted therapy session Baerbel and Delly, the pony, demonstrated the basics ideas involved. |

In order to work on my ability to focus on and to connect with horses I decided to return to 2WildHorses in Co. Tipperary but this time for a full equine assisted learning session. In this setting there are activities planned out by the facilitator but there are no specific goals that have to be achieved and no methods that need to be copied. Read more |
